Is it hard to learn karate when you are starting a little older than most people who are also starting it. I am 14 and think it would be great to do something besides the sports that I already do. I think that karate is a great thing to know for self defense and exercise. But I am concerned with the fact that I would be a white belt 14 year old in a class with a bunch of 7 year olds that are better than me.
The only karate place near my house that has a good instructor is pretty small and has a few classes with adults and a brown and black belt class and then a class for everyone else.
or would something like kickboxing be better?
which teaches better discipline and self defense?
